CHELSEA BORCHINI, Naturalist
I really enjoy sharing the great outdoors with the kids that come to the farm. Working at the farm has taught me so much about life and I hope to be here for many years to come.
Christa Haverly, Outreach Coordinator
I love working here at the farm because I get to learn together with students and adults about different habitats, wildlife, and farm life. Our farm makes the social studies and sciences come alive!
CHRIS ORDIWAY, Naturalist
I really like teaching the students about birds. My favorite birds are barred owls.
RYAN PLEUNE, Outreach Consultant
Working at Hard Bargain Farm has taught me a lot about knowing where my food comes from. I have been able to drink warm milk straight from the cow’s udder, eat a goose egg for dinner, and bale hay to “grow” my hamburgers. My dog Ralph loves the open spaces and is learning to keep his distance from the cows.
SHARON RABIE, Naturalist
We'll have a great time exploring the outdoors, getting dirty, meeting the animals and learning about the natural world. Bringing kids and critters together helps us to learn respect and appreciation for all living things from the smallest to the largest.

BILL TOWNSEND, Naturalist
I enjoy teaching the tools class and helping everyone complete the confidence/challenge course. However my favorite spot is the Potomac River shoreline and photographing birds there.
BECKY WILLIAMS, Naturalist
After being in the classroom for 25+ years, it’s a wonderful treat to be with kids in this beautiful outdoor classroom. I love seeing the farm, forests, creeks and the river through the “fresh eyes” of our students. It’s always a mutual learning experience!
BRENDA WRIGHT, Naturalist
I love sharing my love for the out of doors with the students and parents that visit the farm. Watching the excitement in the faces of children touching a farm animal or insect for the first time is the best part of my job.
DAVE YARMCHUK, Naturalist
I am very excited to be working as a naturalist at Hard Bargain Farm after years in traditional science classrooms. It is great to have the chance to play with kids of all ages in the great outdoors. I also spend time as a graduate student in Education at the University of Maryland, but that’s a lot less fun!
